"Here Goes," 'cept acoustic, happens in San Francisco
🌉 LOBES REDUCED nears it's conclusion with track #9
That’s us this morning in our happy place, the East Bay of the San Francisco neighborhood of California, but boy did we have to earn it!
Yesterday we dared ourselves to drive from Seattle to SF, and that’s exactly what we did. It took 12+ hours, but when you’re a professional truck driving company, that’s actually not at all out of the ordinary. We are not a professional truck driving company, though, just musicians, so this hurt pretty bad. Hat tip to our man Newski, who took the passenger-side nightshift while I (Chris) held the wheel, and his bottomless supply of tales from travels, childhood, “the biz,” and Netflix diminished sleep’s pull to an inaudible whisper.
We’re going to initiate Brett into the Stoop Chat format in the next couple days, at which time you’ll get a better sense for how this fascinating fellow has lived his years.
Right now we’ve got an important rum cocktail to drink before doors open at The Independent. And you’ve got an important song to listen to before you cook yourself a midnight sandwich dinner, or whatever you’re up to. “Here Goes” was the only song we could even really consider to accompany a show in this town, and here’s why: “The song's sense of stepping into the unknown with determination could parallel San Francisco's history of innovation, from the Gold Rush to Silicon Valley, and its continuous push into new frontiers.” No duh!
👋💐
Can’t believe we have nearly reached the end of the Lobes acoustics! Pleased to see you are maintaining the high standards you have set so far. This feels less urgent and more somber than the original but is beautiful nonetheless.
I was wondering what would happen when Lobes reduced came to an end so I’m excited to hear another stoop chat is on the horizon. Also, love the catalogue model vibe of the first photo here and the stunning views in the second. Overall, it’s a winner!
Another brilliant acoustic version. I can't stress enough how much I've enjoyed hearing these versions over the past couple of weeks.
