Today we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the release of TV en Français, our fourth studio album, and the one that baboons consistently call our best. We’ll have exciting news later this week about a deluxe re-printing of the vinyl, a truly exhaustive digital edition, as well as plenty of attendant frippery.
For now, we’re giving track 9 off of TVeF, “Don’t Blow It,” the exhumed-single treatment. Head to the streaming platform of your choice to hear the original track, plus the Sous la Mer version, plus the original demo, recorded live at Seaside Studios in Brooklyn way back in 2013, with Mr. Andy Burrows on drums and piano (he overdubbed the piano; Andy can’t play drums and piano at the same time). There is even, yes, an instrumental version — finally you can hear “Don’t Blow It” without all the shouting, talking, and singing. Truly a Sunday feast, and just the beginning of what is to be really quite a lot of TV en Français-related material over the next couple months.
Blessings and Curses to you, in unequal measure.
🖐️,
the K/C Broiler (our serial killer name, if we were a serial killer team)
Not sure if I should be offended at being called a baboon but I am more excited than I can tell you by this news. CANNOT WAIT ❤️
I have Don’t Blow It on repeat at the moment. I really love the demo. Thank you so much!
Happy Birthday to the excellent TV en Francais. It's good to know we're in the company of baboons with discerning musical taste.
Exciting news all round, cards at the ready for the release of the vinyl and any other related paraphernalia.
