Overreacting has always strongly reminded me of the theme from Charlie’s Angels which I’ve found distracting enough to have never really paid attention to the rhythm section before but I have listened with new ears tonight and it is, indeed, a thing of beauty. You can definitely hear the difference it makes between the demo and the final version.
With regard to karaoke videos, you are spot on that your video is far superior to anything currently accompanying karaoke. I once watched my children sing along to Ed Sheeran (mercifully, I forget which track) and the video was of a couple furniture shopping - possibly in DFS.
Might have helped my brain to have been presented with an image to be honest, found it quite hard to focus on the rest of the words after the FBD, whilst my mind's eye tried to envisage such a beast 😆🤯
Also up for more berserkers, twin peaks and synth rock!
I find it a very transportative tune, evocative of a Summer holiday, the jangly guitar like sunlight reflecting on the sea, the bongos draw us over to the bar where cocktails are flowing as the sun sets and we're swept up by the swirling sounds into the dark of night, singing along ....then I turn and as I look out across the ocean, up at the moon it starts to rain and I'm reminded that The Killing Moon, track 6 on Echo and the Bunnymen's Ocean Rain is also pretty good...Day and night track 6 twins?
Your “angular dance rock” debut record was the gateway drug to WAS for me, and I was so hooked that I anticipated the release of your sophomore album with maybe too much excitement. BTM had unexpected moments that blew my mind because it was exploring such a different side to the band. I’ve loved seeing these “outliers” on your records over the years, because I think they’re ultimately the key moments that have seen your sound shift from WLAS era (which to me is perfection, but I wouldn’t want eight of them) to Lobes era (which to me is also perfection, but it’s evolved and has a strong sense of identity developed over time). TVenF is another record that ranks highly for me (gorgeous! perfect! those four years since Barbara had felt like ages!). Lately I’ve found myself listening to Megaplex so much, because of those “twin peaks” especially, which seem like these crucial pivotal moments. Been wondering if KIT could be my favourite WAS song of all time.

I'm just glad you didn't type "fuck-billed diplodocus" into midjourney...
More berserk little numbers, please!
You're right, a "fuck-billed diplodocus" is definatly not something anyone wants to see an AI generated image of.
Dunno, I might…..
Part of me is intrigued by what AI would come up with if I'm honest.

The twin peaks of KIT and You Failed are certainly something to aspire to.
