I know back in September I said I don't expect anything extra as a paid subscriber - and that's still true! - but if there's no plan to formally release these gorgeous tracks, then maybe they could be available as an exclusive download? (Streaming versions still free to all, of course!)
I cannot articulate how much I love this. Parachute is my favourite track from Lobes, and is probably my favourite of all We Are Scientists tracks to be honest. It lends itself very well to an acoustic version and I particularly love all the extra twiddly bass bits you’ve put in. (There is probably a technical word for that but I don’t know it.) I can say though that it has made my heart happy!
On a separate note, your review of the Dragonforce show might not do it justice, but it certainly makes it sound like something worth watching. “Muso-theatrical consensual human centipede” was not a phrase I ever expected to read and while a little disconcerting, it is definitely intriguing.
As you also mentioned him briefly, I would like to recommend to anyone who has not heard it, the Orville Peck cover of Bronski Beat’s “Smalltown Boy” which I only found out existed yesterday and really is excellent.

These are really high-quality versions of already top-notch songs. Surprised at how much I'm liking these more than acoustic versions in general; this in particular is so beautifully fleshed out!

We'd be happy to do that, yes.
This is a great idea!
🤌
My cat (who is usually very upset by my music choices) immediately started making biscuits when hearing this, so truly a great endorsement.

Thanks, Lou. Yeah, we loved the Orville Peck show that we caught at First Ave. Haven't heard "Smalltown Boy" — will give it a listen!
Many unexpected, centre-stage bass moments in this. Nice! 🪂
I am falling in love with this song again
I’ve always loved the lyrics of “Parachute” and I love this version.
