What a great version of Sprinkles, although to be fair, I'd class any version of that song as great.
I don’t know who I’ve got more sympathy for, Keith’s situation, which is perhaps understatedly described by Chris as “a pretty intense 48-hour tummy collapse” or Andy who is pulling off a particularly good 1000 yard stare in the photo.
I think ‘Sprinkles’ is, perhaps, my favourite W.A.S. song. It certainly is in my head a lot. It might be a tie with ‘Chick Lit’, but to be honest, I could pick one of many, many songs I love.
I just want to say how much I enjoyed reading this post. I was smiling the whole way through it.
I particularly laughed at the 30STM reference. I’ve never listened to a single song of theirs except ‘The Kill’ as it used to play a lot over the speakers pre-gig at venues in Dublin in the early ‘10’s, but I’m not going to start listening to them now as by all accounts, I’ve heard Jared Leto is an awful human being, and I would rather support good human beings like, well, you guys! 😊
Reading this saga has just confirmed some culinary choices for me: Sprinkles>Boigers>San Diegan Balinese Sushi. Glad I've been eating right all these years.
The photographic evidence supplied is the only thing leading me to believe there might be a grain of truth in what I would otherwise assume to be a complete fiction. Now utterly confused!
I love Sprinkles! It’s probably my favourite song from this record (although there is strong competition). I’m surprised it was not a single. Why then does it have an accompanying video? (Not complaining btw - it is a joy in itself.)
All true, with some marginal fudging of the academic credentials. Scrutinizing emails from the time, it actually appears that although we were prepared to potentially record "Take An Arrow," "Slow Down," and "Don't Blow It" with Jacknife, none of those was explored due to the dissipated state of the band.
I remember seeing the name of this track and thinking—“are they going to start writing about cake?” And I’m actually pretty disappointed the demo and the song itself has nothing to do with a good ‘ol funfetti.

This continues to mayyyyybe be my favourite WAS song and this demo is just a blessing.
A 30STM show (we were there to see Walk the Moon, who played right before them) inspired my lifelong hatred of Jared Leto. He’s the worst.
Sprinkles, however, is the best. One of my favorite WAS songs.
I bloody love Sprinkles! Xx
It's always a good morning with Sprinkles (or sprinkles, for that matter). 🌅

You are advised to pursue 30STM's music no further.

You’ve got great instincts, Catherine!

At least we know the seismology bit is true.
I guess that note does lend it the ring of authenticity!
Also, just rereading this. What was the other track you recorded at the same time?

It’s still a great tune, though.
Also, just dawned on me, is this where the terminal shit originated?
The… the what now?
Exposing my fangirl status here: it was a phrase y’all used in a skit where, I think, Chris is dying.
