INTERNATIONAL BELLENDS??

Speaking of ends, a much raved about independent taqueria just opened a crowd funded bricks and mortar restaurant in my area. People are claiming these are the best tacos in London and I have to agree. Not sure my area has any business having a restaurant this good. But I definitely recommend Homies On Donkeys for tacos! Actually it’s sort of ruined tacos for me now, because all other past tacos now pale in comparison. But then again, I’ve not been to one of these Taco Bell Cantinas...

In the uk, Del is short for Derek so whenever you discuss this I’m picturing and old British guy named Derek Taco. I’m not suggesting this is not the case with Del Taco, perhaps it is but either way makes me smile. Also, is having taco as your surname sufficient qualification to open your own chain of Mexican restaurants? Who am I to say. I guess that’s why the US of A is considered the land of hopes and dreams

I'm guessing Derek Taco's great grandfather invented the taco, and that's how it came to be named after Derek's family.

KM deciding not to get anything else with cheese is the most damning review I've ever heard. Although your notes further suggest that, as a Canadian, avoiding local Bell-eries was already a good call. 🌮

So, main take aways are - orange Dorito dust, adhesive cheese and a remarkable lack of enthusiasm from a hung over Keith Murray. I’m not feeling much of an urge to visit, especially in the UK where, as your past experience seems to confirm, fast food is generally pretty dire. I would also argue that all fast food tends to be a young person’s game, not just Taco Bell. I am intrigued by the drink though. What makes it different from all the other blue raspberry slushies on the market? Was it actually that good, or was it just the hangover effect?

Hard to imagine there wasn’t some amount of hangover effect in play with those Baja Blasts, but the tidal wave of affection they caused can’t be that easily explained. One thing that differentiates them is that they’re not super-sweet. We were both delighted by the modest sweetness level.

Yes, ‘the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth’ is pretty effusive, even for a hangover beverage.

Should also say, I love the attention to detail in the notes on this, particularly the further reading section.
