At Bedford Esquires today there was a poster for Link’n Park with Wink 182 supporting. Which, by the way, NO shade. I would love to see a tribute to one of my old favs (Stone Temple Pilots at the top of the list — but what would be the tribute act’s name…?).
The Fleece in Bristol hosts a lot of tribute acts and great puns abound on their What’s On page. I’m undecided whether I prefer Clone Roses or Faux Fighters. Most delighted so far by Stiffbizkit, I think.
Got back from Kendal Calling yesterday, had the best time but had the best day ever on Friday. Managed to get in to Tim Peaks to watch you guys too. All the best with the rest of the tour! Xx
Always glad to hear a bit of Phil Taylor. He and his excellent band PAWS are yet another of the many, many blessings you have brought into my life. Already got tickets for a couple of US shows and scheming to get to a few more.
Hi guys the reason you're not playing the usual Galway spot (Roisin Dubh) is because there's an Irish band called Wild Youth already playing there that night. Have a blast in Monroes Live - I'll be there hoping that you crazy cats see sense and slot Sentimental Education back into the setlist.
Aha! Well, that’s a fair and just reason indeed. We look forward to checking out this Monroe’s joint, if only to advance in our goal of experiencing all of Galway’s wonders at least once. As to Sentimental Ed.… we’ll see…
Jonathan Taylor Thomas is probably who you were thinking of. JTT was all the rage for the time, but they can’t all have the longevity of a JGL. Apologies, I have not listened yet.
So guys you are landing in Galway during Race Week which is a horrible MIDSOMMAResque nightmare for normal Galway folk. But worry not, Monroe's is just a few mins walk from a great restaurant - Re Nao (for everyone and will more than satisfy Keith's veg needs) and lest we forget superb beer served in Salt House (for the band's beer needs) literally across the street from the venue and midwalk between said restaurant. End of essay
Hi Guys , loving the verbal porridge. Very smooth indeed.. no lumps at all .just the way I like it..looking forward to seeing a tribute act called we the mad scientists this Friday in dublin...I think they may be as good live as the real thing......
FYI you are not pronouncing Clwb Ifor Bach correctly 😜🏴
Are we not pronouncing it correctly or are the people of Wales not pronouncing it correctly? ⚖️
Da iawn 👏
Speaking of tribute bands, the exclamation mark-laden smallprint on this lineup made me chuckle https://feastyfest.co.uk/music/

You're inviting me to pun? Buckle up:
Phoney Temple Pilots
Stone Temporary Pilots
Stone Temple Co-Pilots
One could then take it to the next level:
Phoney Temporary Co-Pilots
But, y'know. We should probably keep it classy and remain at least a little restrained.

Don’t forget Counterfeit Cash.
Many moons ago I ran a pun website called punlimited.co.uk. But alas it appears to have been swallowed by the internet.
Stone Cold Temple Pilots?
Holy smokes!

Thanks, Kath! Kendal was fuckin rad.

Scheme on! Phil is a true gem in the crown of Scottish songwriting.

Always look forward to a new substack and this was no exception. I particularly appreciated the top quality accent mimicry interspersed throughout!
Shows so far have been excellent, as always. Really looking forward to Cardiff tomorrow.
I would definitely recommend Two Door Cinema Club. Saw them for the first time at Truck this year. They put on a great show.
Thanks, Lou. I believe our accent work is under-recognized.

Aha! This is some key intel. Thank you, Andrew, we will put it to good use.

Mad Scientists are reported to be a well-researched crew indeed, John. That should be a blast!
