No one is reading these comments a week later, but I'm behind on my stooping and need to share that I also once bought a can of store-brand beans that had no bean slime. I don't have any additional insight to offer, I've just never heard of it happening before, and it's nice to share a weird moment with someone else.
I've read it! What gets me with bean slime is that someone once looked at it and actually thought, mmm what can I make from that, whisked it and invented vegan meringues. It doesn't look like something that's safe to consume
