'Distillery,' might be my #1 non-album WAS song, with 'Dance Off' perhaps also being #1. But aww c'mon Surfer Blood are great! and their track from that split single, the electrified version of 'NW Passage' is also great. The Spatter Analysis Tour had a bill so on the nose for me that my friends asked if I had something to do with it. Perhaps there was a falling out or just never a falling in...?

All good stuff, here's hoping for a livestream catastrophe to seal the deal [insert walrus here].

That tyre photo will never get old! This is a happy day! Although my bank account is now empty.

I’m not seeing all those promised instrumental versions though….

Instrumentals will be on the digital deluxe, but not on any physical formats.

Hi! I'm a fan who discovered your band super late, when the album "Lobes" was released. I'm very happy that the album "TV en Français" is reissued - and not just because I'm French :) I will probably order a vinyl, but I am still hesitating between the two versions. Is it better not to wait too long before pre-ordering? Anyway, thank you for your excellent music, your inimitable humor, and your joie de vivre!

Hey, Jan! Thanks for the kind words! There is no giant rush to place a pre-order, no. We're encouraging it because it will help us decide how to divide our printing up in terms of colors, so everyone gets what they want. The total number of vinyls we're going to print has already been decided, and while we've chosen a number that we anticipate will sell out in the next few months, I think it's super-unlikely that they'll all sell before release day on May 10. 💐

Thanks for your reply! I can't wait for May 10! :)

This going live today coincides nicely with my night out with my colleagues which may mean drunken purchases from the WAS shop on my train home. Of course, I'll be buying whether I've had a few drinks or not but drunken shopping includes the element of surprise on delivery day.

Not sure if this has already been asked and answered yet but I’m curious- why are we getting a TV en Francais reissue before a Brain Thrust Mastery reissue? No complaints here, I’m definitely going to get this TVeF reissue as I love both albums but you know I’m a little more partial to BTM.

The short answer is that the Brain Thrust Mastery masters belong to Universal Music Group (where they ended up after a tortuous ownership path that started at Virgin/EMI), so anything we do with them is subject to a back-and-forth approval process that is remarkably poorly defined and often involves months between responses. We actually learned earlier this year that they were planning a reissue in June (2024) — they didn't reach out to us or anything; we discovered this while once again attempting to find the right person to talk to about a collaborative reissue. Probably some new piece of software that scans Spotify for activity levels of bands in the Universal Catalog determined that BTM gets sufficient streams to merit a reprint. Anyway, when we learned this, we had already planned a (sensibly timed) reissue of TVeF to coincide with its actual anniversary, and asked Universal to postpone the reprinting until we could participate, which, to their credit, they agreed to do. Lest that make us appear to be the villains in this tale — it does mean you'll wait a bit longer for a BTM vinyl — Universal's planned reissue would have been a simple reproduction of the original release, whereas we will give it the deluxe treatment it deserves. So… it's coming, probably Q4 of this year.

This does not sound even slightly villainous! Exciting stuff.

Oh my gosh, how did you guys know that my keychain recently broke irreparably and I was on the hunt for a new thing to mark my set of keys as my own, separate from the sets belonging to my husband and children? I'm not being sarcastic. I only wish the ship date were a little sooner, but I think I'll be able to fend off my family's attempts to steal my keys until May. Also, the Florida swamp shirt is one of my all-time favorites.

These look amazing… but I need to know which of the vinyl editions is the more limited, cos I’m not a rich megastar like you two, so I can only afford one.

Also, the plural of vinyl is vinyl.

Martyn, Ocean Plate and Veggie Plate will probably end up being produced in similar quantities, tbh. Right now we've reserved a certain number of total prints, and we'll make the call on how to split up the colors based on pre-sales and intuition. But once we finalize the order, there won't be any more of either variation made, and we're ordering a number that we anticipate will sell out over the next couple of months.
